Idylle X Hutta Homelinen
In keeping with its ethical, eco-responsible and local approach, Hutta objects with stories, an online shop selling second-hand furniture and local decoration founded by Delphine Vercauteren, has decided to produce a very special Homelinen collection in collaboration with Idylle Design, a duo of fashion designers from Brussels.
The collection is made of linen fabric that is destined to be thrown away.
When Delphine, founder of Hutta, noticed that a large Belgian weaver from West Flanders always produced a few extra metres to sell to renowned textile editors and that these few metres remained in stock or were in danger of disappearing, the idea of a production was obvious.
But second-hand is not often associated with creation. And yet, when it comes to circularity or up-cycling, it certainly makes sense according to Delphine, Lucil and Lita!
Delphine Vercauteren, founder of Hutta in Aalbeke (Kortrijk), was short of beautiful, colourful, cheerful, eco-responsible and above all sustainable table linen to present her objects or to complete her rental projects of furniture and tableware.
Idylle and Hutta wanted to create a unique embroidery design on different types of high-quality linen. Once the roll was used up, the embroidery could be used on other types of linen. Lucil Caufriez Sanchez and Lita Sanchez, the two founders of Idylle Design located in Brussels, who are fascinated and driven by the circular economy, up-cycling and sustainability, immediately set to work on this challenge.
Thanks to impressive family know-how, the duo was able to enrich the linen with fine, colourful and unique work.
The collection consists of three models of tablecloths and napkins, and two models of tea towels. The design and choice of fabrics are such that the small models (2m x 1.7m) can also be used as a light summer plaid or a bed and armchair spread.
A Belgian, ultra-local cooperation in all its facets: from creation to production to sales. Eco-responsible and colourful.
